When i click on a link it redirects me3/31/2023 ![]() During this journey from start to end of an ad request, the bad actor infuses the code that sends the user to an unwanted destination. There are generally three primary ways to insert forced redirect ads on the website or web path:Īn ad request always goes through a number of different levels such as third parties ad networks, SSP, etc. – Dave Pond, GM of Display and Programmatic, Vox Media. “This comes up every year – and this is the worst-case the past several years” In fact, fraudsters develop trust with publishers by posing as a legitimate ad network for a certain period of time and then start dropping in malware through ad creatives in order to forcibly redirect destinations for the users. ![]() ![]() it was a nightmare for me.The redirect could be via links, disturbing pop-ups, or through a webpage overloaded with display ads. He did apologize and said he would look into all of the calls and inform the people who I spoke with of the link and how to watch for that with other customers. I chuckled and explained that I already knew that and suggested he educate his customer service team to this issue. However, he called me back 5 days later and told me "after researching your problem, your yahoo account is associated with an old account". otherwise I would have called him back and told him I had already corrected the issue. He did not leave a call back number and called from a blocked line. They contacted me a week later and left a message stating: I received your escalated request/issue will forward this on to our team, but "like you were already told it is a yahoo account and we don't do anything with those accounts so we might not be able to do anything". The AT&T employees on this forum did email me and assist with forwarding on my issue to someone. BY FAR - the online chat agents with AT&T were THE MOST helpful! They assisted me with getting access to my old account and resetting my password within minutes. I literally spent over 5 hours on the phone with them. WARNING - ALL of the people I spoke with on the phone (managers included) swore that it was not associated with my old prodigy account and were of absolutely NO help. Once I finally got access to that email, then I went to and was able to log into my account using the same password for my account. it WAS associated with a very old account. Yes - I actually figured it out independently. Then go delete your yahoo account, or go into the yahoo webmail account settings and forward everything to some other account like gmail, and be done with it Then copy or export it elsewhere, even to an outlook PST file incoming server requires SSL on port 993 outgoing server requires SSL on port 465 outgoing server requires authentication Incoming server: .com (i know this is a computer but it's the only way free yahoo accounts can outlook) Set up a new email account in OUTLOOK on your COMPUTER, for your yahoo account using these settings: Take it a step further and get rid of both of these companies: Then the process will let you finish without the att redirect, and you can reset your password In the private tab, go to the main yahoo mail login page and just hit reset passwordįor your email address, ONLY enter what is before the sign. Open a new PRIVATE TAB (this ensures no stored cookies are used, and no cookies are kept) The reset password redirect isn't going to fix itself, but i may have found a way to trick it into working (assuming you're trying to get into your address) I came back here one last time in hopes to help some future generation with a possible fixĪs we all know, yahoo blames att, and att blames yahoo - they're both too big to really care to find a solution so forget them ![]()
